His third dam, Step Daughter, is by a
horse called Air Hero whose dam, Anchors
Ahead, is a full sister to War Relic. In
Reality has a double of War Relic. So
War Relic would be a plus.
His sire, Flying Paster, comes from the
same family as Messenger of Song, so
mares with a cross of that blood are
viable. His grandsire, Gummo, comes from
the Spearfish family from which Empire
Glory descends, thus mares by Empire
Glory and another family member, King's
Bishop, should work well. Additionally,
Gummo always worked well with Windy
Sands, undoubtedly due to the Alibhai/Hyperion
inbreeding and the cross of full
brothers *Bull Dog and Quatre Bras II.
Bold Bidder just happens to have had a
full brother who stood the majority of
his stud career in Washington. His name
is Balance of Power, so look for mares
with that cross. To utilize the full
family of Bold Bidder, various horses
from this clan include Finder's Choice;
Assault Landing; Play For Love; and Pas
Seul.
There are quite a few crosses of Mumtaz
Mahal/Lady Juror through Mumtaz Begum; *Mahmoud;
Tudor Minstrel, etc., so you might look
for mares with one of the above crosses
plus some *Gallant Man, who really
augments the Mumtaz Mahal in a pedigree.
Noting an obvious strength of champion
Eliza, Michael's Flyer's half sister, is
that there is sex-balanced inbreeding to
Balladier (sire of Bold Bidder's third
dam, Step Across) by using Spy Song, a
son of Balladier. Be on the lookout for
horses with the above crosses plus a
line of Spy Song.
