Best Lines And Crosses
� To inbreed to Nasram�s part of the
pedigree: Admittedly difficult to find
and mostly via European or Australian
lines, still worth looking for mares
carrying sires Sagamix and Le Glorieux
and any of the offspring of Lady Sharp,
like Lady Blessington, who ran here.
� To inbreed to Naskra�s unique family,
the Miss Gunning branch of Quiver �
obviously his half+ brother Wajima (very
hard to find, but still out there � we
lost a valuable source when we sold
Yankee Victor to Korea. The mare
Veroushka is also from this line as is
Wild Again � so those all apply.
� To use the red-hot family of *Papila
(Crimson Satan), try Swing Till Dawn in
particular, Ferrara, Digression, any of
Tiznow�s kin, Parfaitement and Lively
One.
� To inbreed to Tuscany�s tail-female
line of *Macaroon, use Alysheba, Lear
Fan, Farma Way, or Hoist the Silver.
� His Pompey line will like mares with a
good mix of Tom Fool and Bold Ruler, and
his unique double of Rose Prince�s
family also suggests mares with double
of Prince Rose (*Princequillo, Prince
Bio and Prince Chevalier for the most
part) will be welcome.
� Prince Chevalier is especially good,
as he is tail-female to St. Astra, which
is doubled via two lines of Fastnet in
Naskra�s contribution.
� Other ways to linebreed to St. Astra
are via mares carrying such important
individuals as Forest Princess, Pharly,
Melyno, Soviet Star, Lit de Justice, Fly
Till Dawn, Right Con and Black Tie
Affair.
� His Iron Maiden blood should love a
cross of Swaps and his Broodmare of the
Year sister Track Medal and their
siblings Semi-Pro or The Shoe.
� Olympio�s own tail-female line via
Evening Sun has some good matches: Wild
Wonder mares in particular would be
good; watch for daughters of Cuvee when
they become available, and All Thee
Power mares are from this clan as well.
� It is well to remember that Olympio is
devoid of both Northern Dancer and Raise
A Native/Mr. Prospector lines, so there
is no worrying about doubling those
lines, and mares intensely inbred to
these sires should find him a welcome
�outcross� (there is really no such
thing anymore). Welcome in particular
would be Lyphard (who shares several
French lines with Naskra), Alydar (who
shares Calumet lines with Miss Grundy)
and Forty Niner, who brings in Hoist the
Flag.
� His dam is inbred to Sceptre�s Maid of
the Mist branch via Craig An Eran and
Hamoaze. This suggests a horse inbred to
another relative, like Tom Rolfe who is
inbred to Buchan would be welcome. Look
for Tom Rolfe most frequently via Hoist
the Flag, particularly in Forty Niner
sons.
� Olympio has just one line of Frizette
via Tourbillon. This means he should
like Mr. Prospector/Seattle Slew mixes,
which account for at least three
Frizette lines. Siberian Express also is
a Frizette kin and Slew�s Royalty is
inbred to her.
� Finally, the *Turn-to lines would like
a cross of Black Brook via Irish River.
Proud Irish mares would do the trick.
